Office on a Busy Street

As I have already mentioned my work isn't perfect but I earn my living being an accountant. Figures, figures, I had seen lots of them in my childhood. Unfortunately I am the only child in my family and my father wants me to follow his career. He is also a bookkeeper in a big company. When my parents were young, they were fond of traveling - they visited at least five interesting places in America and probably three in Europe. My father's brother, Uncle Leo settled in Portland, Oregon, and my parents stayed in Chicago. Generally, this city is great - it is very industrial and noisy. There are many factories and plants there and lots of people come here to get a job. Apartments are not very expensive in comparison with the Westside. They say that the city is polluted but I don't think so because it is located on Lake Michigan and the winds blowing from it take away the dirty air out of the city. For instance, despite of the fact that my office is clutched between two huge buildings, I feel fresh air from the lake. It is on the sixteen floors and I can see many beautiful lights in the opposite house in the evening. My work begins at 8 o'clock sharp and lasts eight or sometimes nine hours. Traveling through the city takes me half an hour to get to my office. If you think that my office is a big one, you're mistaken. My office looks like a bachelor's apartment - everything is out of order, but we are five in it. All of us are women who are planning to deserve a good promotion and leave this boring room. Beneath under the window of the office we can watch millions of various cars rushing to and fro along the road. That is why when my Uncle Leo invited me to visit him in Portland, I was wild with joy.
