Cole Brown was born and raised in Northeast Portland. His life-long love for music eventually led him to a brief career in the music industry. It was here, while working in Virginia Beach, that Cole first heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. Soon after Jesus saved him at age 21 Cole returned to Portland where he eventually met ReShawn, whom he married in August 2001. Through a series of events Cole received God’s call to plant a diverse, gospel-centered church in Northeast Portland. Over the next 5 years Cole developed the vision for Red Sea Northeast while serving in other local churches and learning from other pastors. Then, in July of 2006, Cole and ReShawn began gathering a core team ofpeople to help bring Red Sea Northeast to life. This team has since grown and continues to serve the church and the city for the glory of Christ.

Perry Gardner grew up one of four brothers in Portland, Oregon. After Jesus saved him at 18 years old Perry spent 15 years serving in several youth ministries and missions in Northeast Portland and across the United States. Over the next 10 years God prepared Perry for his call to pastor through theological study, discipleship, and the continual unveiling of the gospel. In November of 2007 Perry brought his gift and calling to Red Sea to help establish a new gospel-centered church in the city while training and developing others for the same.
